About Formcord

Formcord is a service I created to help Discord communities build secure and easy-to-use forms. It’s currently developed and maintained by me, an independent developer based in India.

Data Collection

Depending on how you use Formcord, I may collect different types of data. When you log into the dashboard, I collect your Discord user ID, email address, username and avatar URL (as they appear at the time of login), your access and refresh tokens, and create a session cookie that stays valid for 7 days. When filling out a form that requires Discord authentication, I store your user ID, username, avatar URL, a session ID linked to your response, and your IP address (only used for rate limiting). If a form doesn't require authentication, only your IP address is collected. Your IP address is not shared with anyone and is kept only in the database. I don’t store your form answers unless you actually submit them. Submitted responses are viewable by the form creator and possibly others who have access to the dashboard—usually people with “Manage Server” permission on the associated Discord server.

Formcord may also store certain metadata about Discord servers that register with the service, including but not limited to the server name, icon, banner, and other publicly available branding assets. This information may be used for internal analytics, product features, or promotional purposes such as showcasing integrations or examples in marketing materials.

How Your Data Is Used

I use the data collected to support key features in Formcord—like displaying responses to form creators, enforcing rate limits, managing spam, and supporting basic analytics. In some cases, Formcord may also message you on Discord for things like appeal updates or other automated replies. This is only possible because the required OAuth scopes are part of the authentication process needed to use certain features, such as filling out forms that require identification.

Data Security

Your data is stored in secure databases, and I take care to store sensitive information like tokens securely. IP addresses are only used to prevent spam and are never shared publicly. Session cookies are used to keep you logged in and automatically expire after 1 day (for form use) or 7 days (for the dashboard). It goes without saying that your data is not shared with any third parties or third party services that Formcord doesn't directly use. I do my best to protect your data using secure and modern practices. Still, no system is perfectly secure. By using Formcord, you understand and accept that I can't guarantee complete security and won’t be held responsible for any breaches or data loss that might occur.

Third-Party Services

Formcord relies on a few third-party services to work properly. These include Dodo Payments for handling transactions and Discord OAuth for authentication and optional communication. These services only access the data needed to perform their role.

Cookies

Formcord uses essential cookies to manage sessions and keep you logged in. These cookies are required for the site to function correctly and can’t be disabled.

Data Deletion

If not said otherwise, your data will not be deleted from Formcord's databases unless you explicitly make such a request. In that case, you can send an email at support@formcord.app

Thanks for using Formcord!
